Weddings

Are you preparing for marriage and wondering about a Sun Valley pastor performing your wedding ceremony? We would love to talk with you more about how we can assist as you take your next steps toward becoming husband and wife. This is truly an exciting moment in your life and we consider it an honor to walk with you through the process.

Step 1: Complete the Wedding Inquiry Form

Your first step in the Sun Valley wedding process is to complete and submit the Wedding Inquiry Form. This form will get you started in the process and help you get connected to a pastor who can officiate your wedding.

Step 2: Schedule an Initial Meeting with a Sun Valley Pastor

After you complete the form above, we will be in touch with you to schedule an appointment with a Sun Valley pastor. If you requested a specific pastor, we will do our best to connect you with your preferred pastor depending on their availability. During this initial meeting, you will have an opportunity to get to know the pastor, learn more about the pre-marriage process, and begin a conversation about your wedding ceremony.

The pastoral fee for officiating a wedding is $350.00 plus any travel expenses associated with ceremonies located outside the Phoenix area. The honorarium is due at the wedding rehearsal (paid to the officiating pastor).

Step 3: Connect with a campus Coordinator (Onsite Only)

If you would like to have your wedding onsite at one of our campuses, you will be directed to a campus coordinator who will help you make the preparations for your wedding venue. After you complete the Wedding Inquiry form, you will be sent a packet of information about onsite weddings and a building use agreement. To reserve your venue you will need to sign the agreement and submit the initial deposit.

Step 4: Attend PreMarriage

At Sun Valley Community Church, we believe that a successful marriage begins before the ceremony, so we ask each couple to participate in PreMarriage which helps engaged and seriously dating couples prepare for a healthy, lifelong marriage. This 4-week class includes weekly teaching on what makes a healthy marriage, conversation with a marriage mentor couple, and the results of an assessment tool that will help couples gain valuable insights about each other.

The cost of PreMarriage is $50 and child-care is provided onsite for an additional fee. We strongly recommend completing the process at least 6 months prior to your wedding date.

Step 5: Plan Your Wedding Ceremony

Finally, you and your officiating pastor will plan the wedding ceremony. You will discuss items like the order of service, music, readings, and the role of your wedding party. If you are planning an onsite wedding, your wedding coordinator will assist you in furnishings, decorations, dressing rooms, etc.
